Fossils hide in a yellow rock covered in drawings of bones. You will find it underground, in the middle layers, and sometimes out in the open on a cave wall. Bring at least a stone pickaxe: a wooden one will not make a dent.

Fossil rock in a cave. Its bone drawings make it easy to spot among the other stones in the wall.

Fill your bag with bones

Each block you break gives you one piece. There are six kinds: vertebra, rib, shell, claw, wing and skull. Vertebrae and ribs turn up all the time. The skull likes to keep you waiting!

Keep your duplicates, you will need them. The giant snail takes two shells, three vertebrae, two ribs and two pieces of wood. The sea serpent wants ten vertebrae all by itself. Before you throw anything away, check the recipe for the skeleton you are after.

Fossil rocks are always in the same places in your world. The piece inside, on the other hand, is a surprise with every swing of the pickaxe.

Put your skeletons together at the workbench

The collection has five skeletons: the giant snail, the sea serpent, the griffin, the horned mammoth and the dragon. You assemble them at the workbench, wooden stand and little plaque included. The mammoth also needs a copper ingot, and the dragon a gold one.

The dragon is the greediest: one skull, three wings, four claws, eight vertebrae and six ribs. While you wait, two shells and a piece of wood are enough for an ammonite.

Open your museum

These skeletons take up room. The serpent stretches three blocks long, and the dragon spreads out in both directions. Place the piece first, walk around it to see its profile, then build the wall behind it.

Leave a gap between two stands so visitors can walk all the way round without hiding the silhouettes.

Your museum can start small, with the snail next to the workbench. The rest of the hall can wait until the serpent is complete. Grab your pickaxe and head underground at game.playcabane.com!
