Lay out a mushroom ring for the Sporet

Four mushrooms, two ferns and an apple: tame a Sporet, then give it a corner of its own at the edge of your garden.

A beaver character approaches a Gobechapeau with food.
A beaver offers a Gobechapeau something to eat. Every creature has a favourite dish.

A mushroom ring is four mushrooms and two ferns placed together. Red and brown mushrooms mix happily: both count towards the four. A tame Sporet wandering past can then move in.

Make friends with a Sporet

Sporets love apples. Hold one out, and it is yours! Every creature has a favourite dish: a Galette can be won over with berries, and a Cognecorne wants wheat.

Once a creature is by your side, two commands are all you need. “Follow me” brings it along, and “Stay here” stops it wherever you like. Handy for leading it to the garden.

Plant its corner by the garden

Set aside a strip at the edge of the garden, put the mushrooms and ferns there, and leave a way through from the path. Keep everything close together: the game looks for the objects in a space seven blocks across and five blocks high. Two ferns at the far end of the vegetable patch will not complete the ring in front of the house.

One mushroom ring houses two creatures. For a whole herd of Sporets, lay out more rings.

Once the spot is recognised, your Sporet lives around it. Keep decorating, with a bench to watch it from or a path up to the door. As long as the mushrooms and ferns stay close by, it stays at home.

Find a home for every creature

The habitats menu shows what to gather for each species, along with the food it likes. Taming and housing are two separate steps: dinner first, then a home.

The habitats menu: the Cognecorne pasture needs two hay bales and four tufts of grass.

A Cognecorne wants a pasture: two hay bales and four tufts of grass. A Galette prefers the beach, with three pebbles and two shells or starfish. Your Sporet can live beside the vegetable patch while the Galette settles in by the water.

A fence or a path around it makes the whole thing look lovely. Still, it is the objects each species asks for that turn a corner of the garden into a real home.

Every layout is listed on the Creatures page. The mushroom ring fits easily beside a cabin, and the Sporets are waiting at game.playcabane.com.
